Thompson & Knight Presents a Tee-rific Sponsorship for the 6th Annual Wendy Kwan Memorial Golf Tournament
Texas law firm, Thompson & Knight, in tandem with its charitable arm, the Thompson & Knight Foundation, graciously teamed up to serve as the Presenting Sponsor for the 6th Annual Wendy Kwan Memorial Golf Tournament. Through the generosity of its sponsors, as well as a record number of golfers, the You First Foundation raised over $40,000 through this year’s tournament, the proceeds of which will go toward those affected by traumatic medical events. This would not be possible without its Presenting Sponsors.
Formed more than 20 years ago by its namesake law firm, the Thompson & Knight Foundation continues to serve its community through charities and organizations like the You First Foundation. As the Presenting Sponsor, their contribution helped fund 18 holes of golf for 144 players in addition to door prizes, cash prizes for the top three teams, and chances to win several highly anticipated Hole-In-One Prizes, including a brand new car valued at $35,000. Every year the Annual Wendy Kwan Memorial Golf Tournament draws a variety of golfers from across the state of Texas. With Thompson & Knight’s help, The You First Foundation, their sponsors, and golf participants were all able to come together (socially distanced, of course) to celebrate and honor a great cause.
About the You First Foundation
The You First Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity founded in the memory of a beloved friend, Wendy Kwan, who died at age 34 from a brain aneurysm. The organization aims to improve the lives of those who have been adversely affected by traumatic medical events. Since its beginning in 2014, the foundation has provided $115,000 in youth scholarships and over $83,000 in support for neurointensive care and neurorecovery centers to further their research on brain injuries and recovery solutions.
